Every figure this worksheet prints is arithmetic on the vehicles you enter, and on nothing else: nothing is imported and nothing is assumed about your fleet. Where a page states a rule rather than a calculation, the regulation behind it is cited under the tool it appears in, with a link to the section rather than to a home page.

Your numbers

The figures above start from a worked example (52,612). Change any input and the answer updates as you type, the way it will the week you take on four more trucks.

The Walkvo workspace, Reports and defects tab, with one saved worksheet open: 'Daily check programme, 2026 review', filed against the vehicle Unit 214, Freightliner Cascadia and the check 'Pre-trip, unit 214, 06:10'. All fourteen inputs and twelve outputs are on screen, including 7,540 checks a year across 29 units, 452 defects raised a year, 23 open with no recorded repair, 264.4 percent of a week's defects, and $52,612 as the cost of a year of daily checks and defect admin.
What Pro kept: the worksheet saved against the vehicle it was run for and the pre-trip it belongs to, with its reference, its date and every figure it produced.

The vehicle checklist worksheet answers the two questions a safety director is asked and rarely has a number for: what does the daily check round cost us a year, and how far behind are we on defects. Put in the power units and trailers, the shifts a vehicle runs, the minutes a pre-trip and a post-trip take, the share of checks that raise something, how long it takes to route a defect and how many are open right now with no repair recorded. It gives you the hours, the annual cost, the defects a week, the open pile as a share of a week's worth and the inspections falling due next month. Everything is arithmetic on your own numbers, nothing is stored, and there is no account.

Walkvo Pro

Keeping the reports an inspector will ask you to produce

The worksheet tells you the shape of the round. Pro holds the round itself: one record per check, one per defect, and a repair sign-off that either exists or visibly does not.

  • Keep the file on your own disk as well as ours
  • No Walkvo mark on a report that leaves your yard
  • Come back to a half-finished check instead of starting it again
  • Your company name and USDOT number on every printed report
  • The whole fleet at once, for the request that asks for all of it
  • The defect goes to whoever books the repair

What a safety director asks before running the Vehicle checklist app

Where do the default numbers come from? They are a worked example, not a benchmark, and they are there so the page shows an answer before you have typed anything. Change every one of them: a nine-minute pre-trip on a tractor unit and a two-minute one on a delivery van are both real, and the difference is most of the answer.

Why does it ask for open defects separately? Because that number is the one nobody has counted and the one a compliance review asks for first. Everything else on this page is the cost of running the checks properly from now on. The open pile is the cost of the months when the loop was not closed, and it is the only line here that does not shrink on its own.

Does it store what I type? No. The worksheet runs in your browser, nothing is sent to us and there is no account to open. If you want the answer kept, along with the reports behind it, that is what the paid plan is for, and you would be choosing to put it there.
